Custom GPS/GSM and
Fieldbus Interface
This 3U CompactPCI
®
board for infotainment
systems features a combination of well-
estab lished standard industry interfaces in
wireless and fi eldbus communication, accom-
panied by legacy two-wire RS485 interfaces
(realized in FPGA) and some optically isolated
binary I/Os for general purpose functions.
All connections are available at the front panel
of the board. In parallel 16 binary I/Os and
one RS485 can be accessed via rear I/O. The
board is fully compliant with railway standard
EN 50155.
1 GPS interface
1 GSM interface
1 IBIS master interface
1 CAN bus interface
1 Tacho interface
2 RS485
5 binary inputs
8 binary outputs

Ethernet
Switch F301
The F301 is a Fast Ethernet Switch module
with an integrated Fast Ethernet controller
and a maximum of 8 channels at the front
panel (8 RJ45 or 6 D-Sub connectors). The
Ethernet switch is an unmanaged device,
meaning that it is not recognized by other
CompactPCI
®
devices thereby removing the
need for additional software.
An on-board Ethernet controller is used to
realize the interface to the CompactPCI
®
bus.
The F301 also works without the Ethernet
controller being assembled. In this case the
CompactPCI
®
bus only delivers the power
supply. As an option the J2 connector can be
assembled and used to manage the rear I/O
Ethernet signals from the ninth Ethernet port.
The F301 is specifi cally designed for rugged
mobile communication systems and is fully
compliant with EN 50155.
Up to 8 Fast Ethernet ports (front)
1 Fast Ethernet controller (rear J1)
Option: 1 Fast Ethernet port (rear J2)
Digital Input M-Modules™
M31 and M32
A current limit for each input guarantees the
wide input voltage range of 0 to 155V on the
M-Module mezzanine cards M31 and M32.
They have latching and comparator capabili-
ties and a digital circuit to debounce signals of
mechanical switches. The precision deboun-
cing time of 300ns to 100ms is software-
confi gurable and programmed in a PLD.
Each input signal edge generates a maskable
interrupt for the respective channel. The MTBF
is defi ned at 50°C and reaches 300,000 hours
per M-Module.
M31 and M32 are designed in accordance
with EN 50155.
16 wide range inputs 0 to 155 V
Constant current inputs
Debouncing circuit
Interrupt generation
Load on ground (M31)
Load on supply voltage (M32)
Optical isolation 500 V DC
